Read the ArticleToday, KRRC launched the first session of our two-part Youth Leadership Retreat at Camp Merrie Woode! This retreat is all about empowering refugee high school students by helping them grow as leaders—building confidence, character, and the skills to dream big. We were so inspired listening to their goals: attending KVCC, transferring to WMU, and pursuing careers in music, computer science, physical therapy, and more. It was a gorgeous day spent with an incredible group of young people full of promise and potential. We can’t wait for part two! #YouthLeadership #RefugeeYouth #KRRC #FutureLeaders #campmerriewoode
Today, the Kalamazoo Refugee Resource Collaborative hosted its first-ever Refugee & Newcomer Health Fair — and it exceeded all expectations! An estimated 200 individuals joined us for an afternoon full of connection, resources, and fun. While kids played soccer and made beautiful art, parents accessed health screenings, lead testing, legal advice, financial guidance, educational resources, and more. It was a gorgeous day spent in community with neighbors from all corners of the world. Thank you to the healthcare providers, partner organizations, and volunteers who made today possible! #Kalamazoo #CommunityHealth #RefugeeSupport #KRRC
